magic!
yes, magic! I've been so interested in reading his older articles. Nice detective work!!
Aren't they, I've just brought them all together into a single pdf file on my googledocs page so you can download them as a kind of book, for Kindle or iPad perhaps. Link is at the bottom of the post.
Amazing how he managed to get so much into each four page article. You can see too, I think, how they evolved into his two books, especially the wonderful Yoga for the Three Stages of Life
Grimmly, Thank you for posting these up. Very informative and you can see that these are what later became his newsletters.
I noticed that in the Tadasana paper (on your feet asana, n 5) it says to lift heels upon exhale, while normally this is now done upon inhale... I checked the Complete Vinyasa Book and it does not specify, although it say tp hold the breath afterwards which coudl imply you lifted on inhale... Interesting that it changed.
I tried out of curiosity to lift upon exhale and it feels funny. Less balanced, I guess perhaps this is a reason it was changed afterwards?
Hi Chris, yes, wondered if he look back at these for inspiration for newsletters, six months through the year, perhaps we should do a half year volume.
Will check that Chiara. If I remember correctly on the course he had us raise the arms on the inhale and then up on to the toes on the exhale the first time and then the second time raise the arms and come up on the toes on the inghale. Coming down i think it was come down of the toes on the inhale the first time, really really slowly and then lower the arms on the exhale, secend time lowering both the heels and arms on the exhale. will have to double check.
Thanks brother!
