Just came across these videos by Maria Villella for Yogiclife. Love the style of these, kind of like intimate little chats about asana, what's worked for her, how she's currently approaching teaching these asana and transitions etc.
I'd kind of given up on tutorial videos, so many of them now, which is great when we're getting started practicing at home and also working on something new but they can be distracting from our own practice, as it is, perhaps.
Just love Maria's tone here though and damn, she's good, her jump to standing had me giggling away, it's up there with Mark Darby's.
Here's a link to her website ( has flash so doesn't seem to work with my iPad)

yes! I like the use of blocks as opposed to straps. I also find that the use of straps actually encourages the incorrect push of legs (in this case) or of arms (say in sarvangasana for example).
The link to Maria's website does not seem to work for me... it opens to a blank page currently
Hi Chiara, thought that was interesting about the difference between blocks and straps, must test it out.
The link doesn't seem to work on my iPad but is working on the mace so maybe it's something to do with flash.
Thanks for creating the awareness. She has a wonderful teaching approach. All bookmarked for eternity.
