can be difficult to understand but below is a very sketchy outline of what I managed to catch.
0.52 - Starts off with the idea, that yoga is universal
1.09 - then attempts an explanation for why, that god made the body and mind, and that we shouldn't waste it. If you want to (see) reach god, start there (you might interpret it differently).
3.00 - you must make it strong, external and internal body
3.40 - weak body, weak mind
4.44 - yoga is mind control
5.30 - mind is strong, control over the senses is strong, which is why we do practice
6.00 - do your practice everyday
6.20 - practice practice practice, 95% practice (all limbs = practice here)
6.30 - Don't go to the shastras 9worry about the texts) no use, do your practice
6.40 - citta vrtti nirodhah (quotes shastra)
6.50 - shastras wont give you strength, take practice...everyday
7.10 - Don't skip practice, body will hurt, every day,
7.20 - one month two months, pain goes away, six months body is subtle, don't sip, practice everyday
8.40 - take practice everyday and internal poison coming out
10.37 - first start (eliminate) body diseases, 2nd nervous diseases, 3rd mind diseases
16.00 - asanas very healthy
16.18 - do all the a sans but DEEP breathing ( arm gesture - hands up above head and down quickly , that is no good)
16.30 - you start with breathing , 10 second inhale, 10 second exhale,
16.40 - ten seconds....or fifteen seconds
16.50 - breath length the same, 10 sec inhale, 10 sec exhale OR 15 second inhale 15 second exhale, that is called vinyasa
17.15 - Vinyasa important, you breathe completely
17.30 - after you breathing one level (equal) bandha control, mula bandha uddiyana bandha

19.50 - 90% of young people crazy : ), they're not taking yoga practice
20.00 - but also after 30, after 80
20.25 - also sick people, weak people they also take yoga practice

Interesting to see it in print.
Do you think he was really referring to asana practice with 10 second inhale, 10 second exhale?
Blow that! That's almost 17 minutes to do 5 Suryanamaskar A's, assuming:
9 vinyasa's (9x10 seconds + 10 seconds to return hands to samsthiti) = 100 seconds.
Plus 5 inhales & 5 exhales = 100 seconds.
So, 200 seconds x 5 salutations = 1,000 seconds.
Divided by 60 = 16.666 minutes.
So, can you do the whole of primary before sunset then? Gulp!
i think when you watch him say that with his dismissive hand/arm gesture going up and down quickly that he does indeed mean 10 seconds in fact he even says ten to fifteen seconds and goes so far as to clarify it when talking about equal breath. if you inhale fifteen seconds then you exhale fifteen seconds not ten, if you inhale ten seconds then you exhale ten not fifteen, keep it equal (very vey loose transcription).
I remember him talking about what to do when your short of time (because of work) in the interviews on Guy's site, it was in relation to full vinyasa. I checked and he talks about cutting back on full vinyasa, on postures (and of course later on cutting the number of breaths from eight to five) even but not speeding up the breath which is interesting.
And of course the longer slower inhalation ties in with early and later Krishnamacharya, it's a breathing practice, preparation for pranayama as Richard mentioned several times this week.
I saw something on this though from another senior teacher, might have been Mark Darby but don't quote me on that. Whoever it was said that Pattabhi Jois would take the breathing, the count, very slow during standing postures, speed it up through the 'main' part of the series and then slow it down again through finishing.
The most important thing I think personally is to finish the inhalation and exhalation, to take them slow and steady right to the end, that might be five, eight ten or fifteen seconds depending on you physicality and experience.
When I practice with Sharath's DVD or CD which is rare now, because of the speed of his count I take two perhaps three breaths to his five, incredibly fast.
Yeah you can get through the series in an hour but I'm wondering about the point of that. more and more now I'm thinking that I'f I'm short of time I'd rather do half the series and really breath and then do the other half the following day.
But then that's the research aspect, finding the best way to take a practice from the Himalayas into the household and then later into the fast food obsessed , channel surfing West. Krishnamacharya, Pattabhi jois, Sharath and of course the long term teachers in the West itself have been and are working that out as they go along,
"I'm thinking that I'f I'm short of time I'd rather do half the series and really breath and then do the other half the following day."
Yep, I agree, though perhaps in the early years of ones' practice, it's better to cover the full series.
