Probably you should go for it and contact Manju to ask him for an interview. This would give you (and if you post the answers here all the rest of us) a lot of valuable information about the development of the ashtanga yoga tradition.
Was very happy to get this, hoping to take a workshop with him later this year, can ask him lots of questions then.
Did you catch the bit where he talks about asana pranayama and mantra chanting Claudia. In those podcasts by ramaswami i posted last week he talks about asana, pranayama and 'some meditative activity' which could be sitting japa mantra meditation or some other chanting or study of texts. I think we tend to think of meditation as Vipassana or Zen. i think I need to do a post on this and unpick it a little.
in the mahayanan tradition of meditation, another vehicle, chanting is done continuously. this varies from zen or vipassana- yet they are all after the same goal.
G, yes I did, and I also heard that part in the interview with Ramaswami... would love a post on it, hope you bring one out!
