Moo made a comment earlier about it being perhaps easier to come up from UD after dropping back and I think that might be right. The hips seem to be aligned slightly differently or perhaps they just felt higher.
If you dont drop back, but can walk down the wall to UD you can see if it feels any different that way.
Was very happy with my Drop back here (think it's my fourth or fifth, depends if we count the one where I landed on my head) The Matthew Sweeney excercise is defiantly paying off. Kapo was more controlled yesterday and likewise the Drop back tonight, I highly recommend it.

Coming up from UD after a dropback is easier, if you do it right away, without a pause. You kind of harness the leftover energy from the drop.
I also noticed that in your attempts to stand up, you hips never made it to the same line as your feet. It is kind of helpful to push the balance over.
The dropback look great!
I am at the point where even watching this hurts... will I ever?
God was that a year ago?
of course you will cladia it'll just happen one day and surprise you. Did you see this post, has the one of me landing on my head : )

I should spend more time on them this year, Was the best feeling when I learned to do it but it's taken a backseat to other things recently, I do it once at the end of practice but that's about it.
really think there's just a knack to it, good set up and getting the coordination right. you'll get it.
